Why do I have to change my transmission fluid?

Like the oil in your vehicle's engine, under normal driving conditions, heat and oxidation causes deterioration of the fluid, while abrasives and contaminates in your transmission increase. Over time, your transmission becomes more vulnerable to costly breakdown, and loses its peak operationg performance qualities.

To fight deterioration, your vehicle manufacturer recommends changing the fluid in your transmission at regular intervals. These intervals vary from vehicle to vehicle, and as driving conditions warrant, but most leading automotive manufacturers recommend changing the fluid every 15,000 to 50,000 miles (see your owners manual and warranty documentation for maintenance specifications for your particular vehicle).

What about my car's warranty?

Changing the fluid in your transmission at regular intervals is recommended by your vehicle manufacturer, and may actually be required as part of your extended warranty obligations (see your warranty for details). That's why it's essential to perform regular maintenance to your vehicle that meets or exceeds the manufacturer's recommendations. And because Remke's uses the patented T-TECH process, which exchanges nearly all of the old fluid in your automatic transmission versus traditional changes, a T-TECH fluid change actually outperforms manufacturer's recommendations.

Why is patented T-TECH service better?

Traditional automatic transmission fluid (ATF) changes drain about 30% of the old, dirty fluid-leaving behind nearly 70% of the old fluid to mix with the new. Not only was hoisting up the car to manually drain the transmission time consuming, but it left large amounts of old, dirty fluid trapped in the torque converter and fluid cooler. Old ATF suffers from loss of viscosity, and is contaminated with abrasive particles that often lead to premature transmission failure. However, with the patented T-TECH process, precisely the right amount of old, dirty fluid from every part of your transmission is replaced by fresh, clean ATF. Only T-TECH, harnessing the working circulation of your transmission, is able to quickly and precisely displace nearly all of the old fluid. And, just as important, T-TECH service is fast and affordable. most often it can be performed in under an hour, so you don't have to leave your car all day at a specialty transmission shop.
